Derek has been practicing law since 1991 when he graduated from the John Marshall Law School. He has trial experience and prepared a wide variety of cases in the insurance defense field. He concentrates on school, premises, security officer, dram, and transportation liability cases as well as cases involving criminal acts and sexual assaults. He has handled countless court-mandated and UM/UIM arbitrations and has tried almost 60 non-jury trials, and 35 jury trials. Mr. Barker is designated as a Super Lawyer and a Leading Lawyer in the State of Illinois.
